Foxgrove Road,
Beckenham
PROJECTS / Completed
We were commissioned in 2015 to work on this beautiful late Victorian property in Beckenham, increasing the ground floor living accommodation with vaulted spaces to the side and the rear.
The form and materiality that the design takes, along with the roofline that the elevation creates, are designed to echo that of the existing house. The material palette of reclaimed bricks and complimentary reds, help tie the two parts together. The brick detailing to the front elevation, and the offset angle of the rear extension and its large format glazing, provide a subtle contemporary edge.
The scheme sailed through planning, following two failed attempts by a previous architectural practice. Work was complete in 2017.
