Princes Close,
Clapham
PROJECTS / In Progress
We were approached by developers Clapham Estates in 2014 to reimagine a tired 1980s office/workshop into a large contemporary family home on a backland site in the heart of Clapham Old Town. The proposed scheme completely transforms the aesthetic of the building but also the environmental performance.
The tight site and restrictive overlooking issues, meant that we had to work with the existing window locations. Continuous glazed ridges on both elements of the building improved internal light levels, whilst maintaining privacy and provided a natural ventilation strategy. The building was to be externally insulated, and clad in Danish Petersen brick slips. The roof is finished in a gold/bronze zinc cladding, with matching aluminium fenestration that both compliment the brick colour.
The scheme obtained planning permission in Dec 2014.
