Elgin, Scotland
PROJECTS / In Progress
Our furthest commission yet! After our client had a stuttering start with another architect, we were appointed to breathe new life into this tired 1970s bungalow on the outskirts of Elgin in northern Scotland. We have transformed the property with just a modest 4m2 extension and pair of loft conversions. A clever replanning of the ground floor coupled with a new staircase will transform the layout of the house and make it work properly for its new owners.
Externally a muted palette of Shu Sugi Ban timber and white render, is offset by a striking feature yellow chimney. The house is to be externally insulated, and fitted with new renewable energy sources, perfect for a chilly, remote location.
We secured planning permission in the autumn and works are due to begin on site in summer 2022.
