Elgin, Scotland

PROJECTS / In Progress

Our furthest commission yet!  After a stuttering start with another architect, we have been appointed to breathe new life into this tired 1970s bungalow on the outskirts of Elgin in northern Scotland. We have transformed the property with just a modest 4m2 extension and pair of loft conversions. A clever replanning of the ground floor coupled with a new staircase will transform the layout of the house and make it work properly for its new owners.

Externally a muted palette of She Sugi Ban timber and pale render, is offset by a striking feature yellow chimney. The house is to be externally insulated, and fitted with new renewable energy sources, perfect for a chilly and off grid northern location.

Submitted for planning in July 2021

As lockdown eases, we remain open for business during normal working hours (9:00am-6:00pm) and are working from our COVID-secure offices. Work continues on site with all appropriate safety measures for our projects currently under construction, and we retain all social distancing precautions when we visit. We are happy to arrange consultations via videoconference for new and existing clients, or in person with appropriate precautions.
