PROJECTS / Completed
The substantial reorganisation and extension of a Victorian mid-terrace house in Clapham.
This project involved the re-organisation and extension of the ground floor to provide a new kitchen, dining and sitting area. The rear of the house was extended in three parts; firstly a simple side return to widen the kitchen, secondly a glass box was added to the side of the house to house the dining table; and thirdly, a cantilevered green roof to the rear with a glazed disappearing corner. The connection of the house to the garden was greatly improved by bringing a narrow corridor of greenery down the party wall, past the glass box. The rear half of the house was lowered improve the ceiling height of the space.
In addition to the rear extensions, the remainder of the ground floor was reworked to provide a downstairs cloakroom & home study. The first floor was reconfigured to provide a large master suite, with en suite and dressing areas. The whole house was redecorated in a muted palette devised by Barker Bourne Interiors.
Delivered in conjunction with George Clarke Projects, the project was completed in December 2014.
